Injured on a Construction Site?

Construction work is dangerous — but that doesn’t mean injuries should be ignored. If you were hurt on a jobsite, you may be entitled to more than just workers’ comp. We help injured workers understand their rights and take action.

Worksite Injuries Deserve Serious Legal Attention

Every day, workers across New York put themselves at risk to build our cities and infrastructure. But when safety rules are ignored, equipment fails, or supervisors cut corners, serious injuries can happen — and workers are often left to deal with the fallout alone. At Dallas Law, we step in to make sure that doesn’t happen.

We represent laborers, electricians, ironworkers, roofers, and other construction professionals injured on residential and commercial job sites. From falls and equipment accidents to injuries caused by third-party negligence, we fight to uncover every responsible party and pursue maximum compensation. You focus on recovery — we’ll handle the legal side.

What You Should Know About Construction Injury Claims

Workers' compensation isn’t always enough. In many cases, injured workers can also file lawsuits against negligent contractors, property owners, or equipment manufacturers.

 Falls From Heights

Falls from scaffolding, ladders, or roofs are among the most common — and most serious — injuries we see on job sites.

Falling Objects or Debris

Unsecured tools, building materials, or debris can cause traumatic head and neck injuries. We investigate site safety violations and accountability.

Faulty Equipment or Machinery

If unsafe or defective tools caused your injury, there may be grounds for a product liability or third-party negligence claim.

Electrocution or Burn Injuries

Faulty wiring, lack of signage, or inadequate training can lead to serious electrical injuries — and someone may be responsible beyond your employer.

Third-Party Contractor Negligence

We pursue claims against subcontractors, site managers, and vendors whose negligence contributed to unsafe working conditions.

Common Questions About Construction Accidents

If you’ve been injured at work, here’s what you should know now.

  • Can I sue someone after a construction injury in NYC?

In many cases, yes — especially if someone other than your direct employer (like a general contractor or equipment provider) was responsible for your injury.

  • Is workers’ compensation my only option?

Not necessarily. Workers’ comp provides some benefits, but it often doesn’t cover full lost wages or pain and suffering. A third-party lawsuit may provide additional compensation.

  • What laws protect construction workers in New York?

New York Labor Law Sections 200, 240 (“Scaffold Law”), and 241 provide important protections for construction workers injured due to unsafe worksite conditions.

  • How long do I have to file a claim?

For third-party injury claims, you generally have three years. Workers' comp claims must be filed within two years — but it’s best to act quickly in both cases.

  • What if I’m undocumented? Can I still file a claim?

Yes. Your immigration status does not affect your right to file a personal injury or workers’ compensation claim in New York.
